The end of the Stewartfield Way cycle route, from Kingsgate to the National Museum of Rural Life. The bollards were a little tight, especially so close to the turn onto the crossing.

The Stewartfield Way cycleway takes a detour half way to the next roundabout at each of the Macivor Crescent junctions. It may even be quicker, although marginally longer, just to cycle round Macivor Crescent.

The Stewartfield Way shared footway - no wider on this stretch than it was further east.

The Stewartfield Way cycleway crosses Macneish Way (which is the entrance to the Morrison's supermarket) here, but no help to cross this busy road, not even use of a central island due to where the dropped kerbs have been installed.

A new pedestrian crossing connecting the shared-use footway on Stewartfield Way to a sports centre across the road. Why no provision for cycling across?

Are U-turns a problem here? U-turns prohibited on a road with frequent roundabouts. There isn't room to perform a U-turn on the shared footway on Stewartfield Way.

The Stewartfield cycle route meets the cycle route along Stewartfield Way (connecting the National Museum of Rural Life to NCN756 at Kingsgate), but only directional signage for the latter.

There is no help for cyclists crossing side roads on the Stewartfield Way shared-use route, including the busy Morrison's approach road, not even use of a central island.

Although cycle route signage is provided, the crossing between the James Hamilton Heritage Park and the shared-use footway on Stewartfield Way is a no-cycles puffin crossing.

NCN 756 crosses Stewartfield Way at this toucan crossing, while there is a continuation of the shared-use footway along most of the rest of this road to the agriculture museum on the west side of town.
