The Mossneuk cycleway changes from unsegregated to line segregated path, although it isn't signed as such, for the final section to Newlands Road. The crossing footpath has priority over the cycleway.

The Mossneuk cycle route continues along Pitcairn Crescent to the left, but takes a detour to join the footway of Mossneuk Road first.

Huge 'No Cycling' and 'No Pedestrians' signs next to the Redwood Drive shared footway. What is actually meant is that the Glasgow Southern Orbital road beyond the junction is restricted.

To get onto the cycle route to Stewartfield from NCN756 on West Mains Road, the simplest way appears to be to use the slip onto Torrance Road and then the dropped kerb inside the junction.

A sign for National Cycle Network Route 2, except it's actually for East Kilbride route 2, and doesn't clearly identify whether it is for the road on the right or the path just beyond it.

The route finally arrives at the Brancumhall Estate, turning right off of Morrishall Road into Galloway Road.

The route to Brancumhall turns onto Morrishall Road. There was no indication that this route (which made its way along Calderwood Road on the footway) is not on-road along this section of fairly busy and fast road.

No evidence that this section of footway on Whitemoss Avenue is a cycleway. It's also rather busy and cluttered.

The first sign that the East Kilbride cycle route 1 has morphed into the East Kilbride to Strathaven cycle route. Some of the signs on this route include the '1' number, others such as these do not.

Where now? Again, missing any signage, East Kilbride's cycle route 1 goes onto what looks like a footway at the far side of the junction, which is a path that leads to an underpass at the Righead Roundabout.

Clear signage for the Dollan Aqua Centre, but nothing in either direction for East Kilbride's cycle route 1 which turns here.

No sign on East Kilbride's cycle route 1 for the turn into Brouster Hill. There is a sign in the other direction, see #31508.

The cycle route through and beyond the motorway junction is a shared footway. There is a lot of dirt from the carriageway affecting the cycleway.

Compared to the shared footway on other side of the road, the end of the purpose built cycleway looks over-engineered. It could also do with a sweep.

The Cathkin Relief Road's cyclepath looks more and more like an ordinary footway the further north it gets. But still has markings to remind users. No shared-use signage anywhere.

NCN756 continues along Larchfield Drive, but the path to the left is also a cycle path and goes up to run alongside the Cathkin Relief Road.

I don't know whether this counts as a branch of route (74) or if this is a sign directing towards route (74). None of the destinations are on actual NCN74. No sign for an opposite direction.

I'm not sure how the cycle lane helps anything. The parked cars are more of a hazard than a low traffic sideroad with good sightlines.

The M74 junction cycleway starts just after a slight road narrowing, so users will have to take a defensive road position to avoid being run over, in which case they could just continue on the road in such a position.

The cycle lane can only be accessed by going across the footway, but watch out for the raised kerb at the end. Only the kerb at the footway side is dropped. (See also #88922)

The stop-start cycle lane starts again under the parked car at the right of the picture.

Just when the road gets to a narrow bit on a slight climb, the cycle lane stops briefly.

It seems the designer expects cyclists to cross to the park using the toucan crossing away to the right, rather than crossing the centre of the junction. Coming from the park there are no push-buttons for the crossing at the park gate.

The paths in Cuningar Loop park are mostly paved.

The route sign here says NCN74 turns left down Bridge Street, but there is another sign further down Bridge Street that refers to route (74) meaning that the road leads to route 74 and isn't itself route 74. There are other signs for 74 fur ... [more]

So has the cycle route suddenly gone back onto the road? Without warning (or space) a cycle lane appears in the road, carefully painting around a pothole, and does the straight ahead arrow mean the route is going straight on at the junction ... [more]

Junction of National Cycle Network routes 74 and 75 in Uddingston. Signs do not mention route 75 straight on to Uddingston town centre and Glasgow. Barrier has been removed so cyclists can join carriageway directly.
