The start of the cycle track for the Whitemoss Roundabout diverging from the carriageway of Kingsway. It could be extended back along the verge to meet the cycle track from the Birniehill Roundabout.

The cycle track leaves the Queensway carriageway in time for the Righead Roundabout. There is plenty of room for it to have been off-road all the way along here.

The Queensway footway changes from asphalt to slabs, and shimmies to the side slightly. The drainage is poor.

The steps on the southwest side of the Queensway footbridge have been shut due to deteriorating concrete, leaving only the steps to the southeast for users. Perhaps it's time this footbridge was replaced.

Not only has the footbridge got steps and no ramp, but it is also in the way of the Queensway shared-use footway.

The cycle route into East Kilbride crosses Glenburn Way, but ends at the next junction at #31505. Since this road is one-way, a sign to diagram 810 would be appropriate here to inform those crossing.

A split pelican crossing across Redwood Drive, rather than a toucan crossing with extra call buttons, when it forms part of a cycling route. It took a while for the lights to change.

A split toucan crossing across A749 dual carriageway for NCN756 to get to Nerston village en route to Rutherglen and Glasgow.

Motorists: Don't U-turn Cyclists: U-turn The A749 crossing on NCN756 outside the Kingsgate Retail Park, before the cycle route makes its way through Nerston village.

Before route 3's path was built, cyclists were expected to return to the carriageway once past the roundabout.

A sign for a cycle route to Lanark, but without a destination. There is no longer a corresponding sign on the other side of the road, just signage for NCN74.

A toucan crossing across the dual carriageway connects Bothwell to the Raith Interchange walking and cycling provision. As it forms part of the junction traffic signal system, one side of motor traffic is stopped before the other.

The path from the Raith Interchange continues alongside the dual carriageway to Bothwell Bridge. There is literally nothing on this side of the road. A toucan crossing is provided for getting across to Bothwell.

Earnock St has pedestrian access to Burnbank Road, but only away from Hamilton town centre. No provision for cycling.

Space for motoring. Even the pedestrian infrastructure is pretty flaky, leading to people walking along the verge.

Not good for cycling, not good for bussing.

Route (74) switches from the roadway of Ballantrae Road to the footway of Main Street. Lots of road markings.

Huge "No Cycling" sign next to shared-use footway alongside Redwood Drive (see #48424). The sign actually refers to the Glasgow Southern Orbital dual-carriageway beyond the next road junction.
